We are incredibly proud to announce that this week CTSP has been identified by Secured by Design as providing an industry-recognised qualification of competency across the technical security sector. Secured by Design is a police organisation working with police forces to deliver crime prevention and reduction initiatives since 1989 and has listed CTSP as one of two benchmark qualifications for designers, installers and maintenance engineers to meet their required Alarm Standards.
Kevin Matthew, overseer for the CTSP Register says, “for Certified Technical Security Professionals to be recognised as a benchmark for those wanting to join the ‘Secured by Design’ (SBD) alarm standard is a testament to the quality and professionalism of the register.”
Within the security systems industry, there is an increasing expectation of raising standards; CTSP was created to fill that gap to fulfil the needs of businesses and individuals alike. In order to meet this expectation, a professional register that recognises competence, quality and qualifications (both vocational and academic) in the Technical Security Industry was created.
Two years later, CTSP has become a hub for technical security professionals to network, share ideas/advice and increase their professional development through hosted events and seminars. Thanks to recognition from SBD as well as continued support from our registrants, we are collectively raising awareness of what CTSP is all about.
As we approach the two-year anniversary of CTSP, it’s a time to reflect on what we’ve achieved, and how we want to take the business forward. Over the last two years, we’ve strived to be a beacon of integrity and quality across the technical security sector, and to be recognised by respected bodies such as British Security Industry Association (BSIA), SSAIB and SBD is a great privilege. The recognition and support we’ve received from registrants and security bodies, guides us in developing CTSP in the years to come.
